Dots

Motion design, concept, generative experiment

Dots is a series of experiments in seeing the way a computer sees. Using feature detection and tracking markers, the image is stripped down to nothing but movement: every dot is a point the software has decided is worth following. Bodies, faces and gestures only exist here as long as they move, surfacing from the dark as a scattered constellation and dissolving again the moment they stand still.

What's left is a portrait of movement itself, reduced to its most basic data and turned back into something you can feel.
